By accessing or using the Clearance platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a university or institution, you represent that you have the authority to bind that institution to these terms.
Clearance is an institutional research governance and thesis management platform. We provide tools for milestone tracking, document submission, supervisory feedback, mediation, and compliance auditing. We act as a software provider and do not participate in academic evaluations or university policy enforcement.
Clearance provides the platform, but your university configures the rules (e.g., milestone deadlines, approval requirements, and roles). Disputes regarding grades, extensions, or supervisory changes must be handled through your institution's official channels, though Clearance may provide the audit log to facilitate mediation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clearance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of our Service, including but not limited to academic failure, loss of funding, or visa revocations. The platform is a tool for compliance, but the responsibility for meeting academic and legal requirements remains with the user and the institution.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service with or without notice. We will provide reasonable advance notice to institutional administrators regarding significant changes that impact core workflows.
